The other day we posted a great camp suggestion for kids who were into marine life and science, and now we’ve got another great one for kids who are more artsy.
The East End Arts School is is holding summer arts camps throughout July and August for kids and teens at their campus in Riverhead.
The Renaissance Kids Camp, a two-week art, music and theater camp for kids ages 5 through 8, will take place Monday through Friday, July 23 through August 3 from 930am to 3pm. Campers are introduced to a broad range of artistic and creative experiences through this year’s camp-wide theme, Planet Earth. Campers will explore topics from the African Jungle and Sahara Desert to the Brazilian Rainforest and Arctic Ocean, and beyond. Each day includes visual arts with painting, sculpting and craft activities, music where campers sing, dance and try musical instruments, and theatre, which includes stories, puppetry, role playing, character creation and other dramatic play activities. Camp concludes with a performance and art show.
Renaissance Summer Arts Camps, one-week, more focused arts camps for kids ages 9 through 14, will take place various weeks, Monday through Friday from 930am to 230pm. This is an amazing opportunity for tweens and teens to immerse themselves in their passion. A variety of camp experiences are offered where campers will learn and grow creatively in the arts. Programs are designed to bring out each camper’s unique, artistic ability in a fun, supportive atmosphere. Our instructors are professionals who work every day in the subject areas they teach. Group sizes are small to allow for personal mentoring.
Programs are scheduled as follows
- Sculpture Garden – Fine Arts Camp I: July 9-13
- Comedy Farm – Improv Camp: July 9-13
- Paint Barn – Fine Arts Camp II: July 16-20
