We found some great posts and articles this week covering a variety of topics relating to parenting. They’ve all got great insights into some pretty great topics (some heavier than others) – enjoy!
Admit it – we all do things as parents that we are, well, not so proud of. This post on Babble Voices, 11 Totally Shameless Mom Habits, totally calls out moms and dads – are you guilty of any of these? Personally, #1 is how I eat my dinner on most nights, sadly.
If you have a daughter, you should read this article about body image. As moms, does our desire for our daughters to succeed translate to our feelings about their appearance? You’d Be So Pretty If offers some pretty interesting insights.
Whether you have a child with special needs or know someone who does, this post 20 Tips for Raising Children with SpecialNeeds is a great read and includes some resources that may be instrumental in your family.
Have you seen the video Dear 16 Year Old Me that has been circulating with warnings about the long term effects of sun damage resulting in skin cancer? This post resonates along the same lines. 18 Things I Wish Someone Told Me When I Was 18 is exactly that – things the author wishes someone had told him before he embarked on his adult life journey. The post is extremely well thought and includes great points such as accept and embrace change and ask a lot of questions. Very simple points but definitely things we need to be reminded of.
