New things are popping up all over the place around Long Island. I just heard about two great places that will be opening soon that kids will absolutely love!
Kidville is a place I’ve been hearing about for years from my Manhattan friends. I’ve never been, but the pictures I’ve seen look like a child-wonderland – a great place for classes, parties, indoor play and more, and the best part is that it’s all in one place. I just got word that in addition to the recently opened Roslyn location, Long Island will be home to some new Kidvilles locations in both Wantagh and Commack this fall, with another Garden City location also opening (no date was specified).
The Adventure Park at Long Island, the first aerial forest ropes park on Long Island, will be opening on June 21 in Wheatley Heights (on the Henry Kaufman Campgrounds, 75 Colonial Springs Road).
Eight different trails for different experience levels (introductory through advanced) will include bridges from tree platform to tree platform, as well as zip lines, and are appropriate for ages 7 and up. Safety is extremely important, so everyone is required to wear safety harnesses that are secured to cables, as well as attend an orientation session before hitting the trails.
Admission is based on age and the number of trails that are available for each age group. For 3 hours of climbing (plus 30 minutes of initial orientation), ticket costs are $49 for ages 12+, $44 for ages 10-11 and $39 for ages 7-9. If you show up during the last three hours of the day, all tickets are $35. No reservations are necessary and there is no fee for parking.
The Adventure Park at Long Island will be open this summer 7 days a week between 10am and 9pm, changing to a fall/spring schedule of weekends and holidays on September 3.
Will you be visiting Kidville or The Adventure Park at Long Island with your family?
