We’ve talked about it before, but it never hurts to mention again that October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month. Have you seen the big pink ribbon all around? So many organizations and brands, both national and local, have launched programs this month to show their support for the cause.
Although it is certainly important to raise money – that’s what pays the scientists who are working super hard to find a cure for this crazy monster – it is equally as important to raise awareness for this disease that affects women and families at a staggering rate – more than 290,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year.
Next time you visit your supermarket and find yourself in the dairy aisle staring at the yogurt because you don’t know what to buy, check out Dannon. Under the lid of specially-marked Dannon products, you will find a unique code which you can enter at www.cupsofhope.com. For each code entered before November 30, 2010, Dannon will donate 10 cents to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. to provide women free mammograms and support breast cancer research on a national level. Dannon pledges to donate a minimum of $500,000 to the National Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation, hoping that through this program, their donation will reach $1.5 million!
Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Dannon. In addition, I received a gift certificate and products to thank me for taking the time to participate.
