In celebration of the Girl Scouts’ 100th anniversary, the Long Island Game Farm is hosting its annual Girl Scouts Day for the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County on September 29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m, rain or shine.
There will be tables set up for visitors to learn more about the Girl Scouts, and sponsorship opportunities for Operation:Cookie, which sends Girl Scout cookies to troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, and to those recuperating at Walter Reed Medical Center and the Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. Those in attendance can join the Girl Scouts in making animal cards, stamps and face masks, participating in a scavenger hunt, playing games and making Girl Scout swaps.
In addition to doing these and other activities, the Girl Scouts will also explore the Game Farm as they visit different exotic animals, enjoy the variety of shows and go on the fun, exciting rides.
Advance tickets are on sale for Girl Scouts, their families and the general public for only $10 — a considerable savings over the regular admission – which includes entrance to the park, all shows, most rides & exhibits plus Girl Scout activities. Children ages 3 and under are free. Tickets must be purchased in advance before September 25. Those who purchase tickets the day of the event will be charged the regular admission price. You do not have to be a Girl Scout to attend!
To place an order, call Kelly at (631) 543-6622 ext. 221, or e-mail: email@example.com. Tickets may also be purchased at the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County’s website at www.gssc.us, either by paying online or by downloading and printing the flier. Those who wish to pay by check must make checks payable to GSSC.
