Editor’s Note: This show is for mature audiences only.
The Bare Bones Theater, the “alternative” performance space in the heart of Northport Village, presents The Monkey King, an original thriller/comedy running between February 16th-19th. Written and directed by Long Island native, Don Intonato of Syosset, this play is destined for Off-Broadway at the end of 2012. Originally presented as a staged reading in June of 2011, these full performances were prompted by rave reviews.
A dark play, The Monkey King is meant for mature audiences only. On New Year’s Eve, accountant Rupert Marlowe not only embezzles money from his boss, he then runs away with the boss’ daughter, Diane, to Bali, Indonesia for one last fling. A few days later, a half man/half monkey devil and a mafia hit man show up for breakfast at his villa. Now it’s payback time.
The cast includes local performers Ben Intonato and Christine Copley of Huntington, Sean King of Smithtown and Nino Ascencio of Medford.
Tickets cost $20 per seat and can be purchased online or by calling 800.838.3006.
