Countdown to 12
Long Island Children’s Museum (11 Davis Avenue, Garden City – 516.224.5800)
“Bling in the New Year” with Countdown to 12, an annual New Year’s family event. Get ready to add even more dazzle and shine to the traditions of New York’s famous Times Square festivities. Enjoy face painting, ball drop and an extreme dance party while you “bling” on 2015!
* Cost: Tickets are free with paid museum admission.
Fishes & Wishes New Year’s Eve Event
Long Island Aquarium (431 East Main Street, Riverhead – 631.208.9200)
Fishes & Wishes Celebration will start at 630 and go until 11pm. Bring the kids, there will be plenty of food and great fun, plus entertainment that can’t be found anywhere else. Guests will all enjoy a cocktail hour, buffet dinner (includes beer and wine), dancing, crafts for the kids, dessert and ice cream bar, plus a mock Midnight champagne and sparkling cider toast (at 10:30), and of course the beauty of the Aquarium at night. Packages are available if you want to spend the night at the Hyatt Place East End & Resort Marina.

New Year’s Eve “Ball Drop”
Children’s Museum of the East End (376 Bridgehampton/Sag Harbor Turnpike, Bridgehampton)
Young revelers should be able to enjoy the New Year’s Eve fun too at 12 Noon at the Museum’s annual New Year’s Eve “Ball Drop”. Come mark the start of 2015 with a countdown to Noon watching a festive ball drop from CMEE Square in the Museum’s permanent exhibit, complete with celebratory confetti, and sparkling juice. Museum staff will present a workshop to make special holiday noisemakers that day at 11:30 am.
* Cost: Members free, non-members $10, which includes museum admission. Space is limited so call for information.
Family New Year’s Eve Party
Bayville Winter Wonderland (8 Bayville Avenue, Bayville – 516.628.TOYS)
Ring in the New Year at your choice of two events, hosted by the Bayville Winter Wonderland. Choose from celebrations at Shipwreck Tavern or Beaches and Cream, each with their own menus and packages.

Celebrate the New Year

Kids can spend the afternoon exploring the principles of geometry and designing their own Times Square Ball.

Family Bowling New Year’s Eve Celebration

Midnight on Main Street
Capital One Plaza (116 East Main Street, Patchogue)
The Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce, Inc. will present Midnight on Main Street, a new, fun and unique family New Year’s Eve celebration. The event is free and open to all who wish to celebrate the new year. The event will start at 8pm on Wednesday, December 31, and the countdown will start promptly at 9pm – an illuminated ball will rise and a grand display of Grucci fireworks will kick off to ring in 2015.
