Most people we know have had a run-in with the Big “C” at some point over the course of their lives. Whether it was their mother or father, sister or brother, aunt, uncle, cousin or child, cancer has affected so many of us in one way or another. There are many foundations, walks and fundraisers to raise money to support research and we all hope that someday, someone will find a cure.
Quill.com, a leading business-to-business online and direct marketer of office products, is boosting breast cancer awareness using one of everyone’s favorite social media tools, Facebook. If you are a Facebook user, you can post and personalize a virtual “Hello My Name Is” sticker on your profile with your own message to honor survivors and victims of Cancer, sharing messages of hope and support across the Facebook community. For every sticker shared, Quill.com will donate $1 to City of Hope, a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center dedicated to research, treatment and education. Throughout the month of October, every sticker created will be displayed in a community gallery on Quill.com’s Facebook page, creating a virtual wall of breast cancer messages and images.
Remember, it could be one of our sons or daughters who become the scientist to finally put an end to this disease, so every single fundraising effort continues to be important, whether it is a small lemonade stand in front of your house or an organized effort done by a large corporation.
