Hi, everyone! I’m very excited for the opportunity to be a part of the LIParentSource.com Parent Panel and share some of my thoughts, experiences and ideas with you. A little about me – I was born and raised on Long Island and I attended college upstate at Binghamton University. My husband and I met at Binghamton and have been married for four years. We have a six-month old son and a four-year old Shih-tzu. It’s just me and the boys! Thankfully, with the exception of the dog, they’re pretty civilized.
In trying to keep my family healthy, I choose natural products and foods whenever possible. I’m passionate about breastfeeding, I recently started making homemade baby food, and I spend way too many hours at Whole Foods. That being said, I’ll never turn down a cookie or a glass of wine and I may have eaten all the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups I bought for the trick or treaters.
At the end of January, I’ll return to my job as a high school English teacher. During my maternity leave, I have explored Long Island to find baby-friendly activities and honed my favorites list of practical, healthy, organic products. While the web can be an abundant source of ideas, it can also be overwhelming. I hope you’ll find my posts for the Parent Panel helpful as I highlight some of the area’s best spots for families and a few of my favorite websites and goodies.
