The Long Island Ducks announced that the team will host its second “peanut free day” of 2011 at Bethpage Ballpark. On Saturday, September 10 when the Ducks host the Camden Riversharks at 1:05 p.m., there will be no sale of peanuts at the ballpark, giving fans struggling with peanut allergies the opportunity to attend a baseball game.
As peanut allergies in children continue to increase and currently affect an estimated one in 125 children, for many, they make it hard (or impossible) to come to the ballpark and have a great time with friends and family while watching a baseball game. The Long Island Ducks are providing a special opportunity for families dealing with this issue to enjoy a ballgame at Bethpage Ballpark. Families interested in purchasing tickets for the September 10 peanut free game can do so by visiting www.liduckgroups.com and typing in the password “peanutfree.”
