I am starting to wonder if I am becoming a Bravo-lebrity groupie. Is that even a word? I know that I get goosebumps on the back of my neck every time I read that a favorite person from my beloved Bravo Network will be appearing locally and I try to attend whenever I can.
Last April, I got to chat it up with Ramona Singer from Real Housewives of NYC. I was playing beat the clock with this encounter – I dropped my son off at his karate class and had exactly one hour to drive to the location, wait in line for my bottle of Ramona Pinot Grigio to be signed and return to karate for pick up. Pat myself on the back here – I did it with ease!
The next Real Housewife appearing on our Island was Bethenny Frankel, signing her novel at Book Revue in Huntington. My husband was traveling and I would have had to hire a babysitter in order to attend, which I decided against. After watching the latest season of her own show, Bethenny Ever After, I sit now, months later, still slightly disappointed.
Everyone’s favorite table flipper, Teresa Giudice from Real Housewives of New Jersey was next, appearing at Barnes & Noble to sign her cookbook Fabulicious!: Teresa’s Italian Family Cookbook. At the time, I was quite upset with her after what she had written in her book about her fellow castmates. Apparently I wasn’t the only person who felt that way – instead of a a super long line, Theresa was greeted by many bracelets available right up until the time of the signing.
Back in December, I was bummed that I missed meeting my favorite New Jersey housewives, Caroline Manzo & Jacqueline Laurita. My family would have had me committed if I asked them to cut our San Francisco vacation short so I could meet a real (or not so real) celebrity.
Yippee!! BLK Water was being promoted with Caroline, Jacqueline and Albie at my favorite Smithtown store, Uncle Giuseppe’s last weekend. I got a great spot on line at 12:30 p.m. It was very organized with store employees selling bottles of the BLK Water. At 1:10 we saw the BLK Water tour bus pull in with a surprise – Chris Laurita was driving, followed out by Caroline, Jacqueline, Albie and Christopher! The crowd of fans went wild!! After I waited on line impatiently for 2 hours until it was my turn, they were all very friendly while they autographed my bottles in silver Sharpie (see our group shot above!).
Next stop on my list is yet another New Jersey Housewife, Melissa Gorga who will be appearing in Smithtown on June 8 and Andy Cohen, Bravo’s Executive Producer, who will also be at Book Revue in Huntington on June 28 signing his recently published memoir. Let me know if you’d like to join me!
