This weekend, grab your kids, family and friends and head to Oyster Bay by train, boat or by car to the Oyster Festival! For the 28th year in a row, one of the largest waterfront family festivals on the east coast will take place right here on Long Island on Saturday and Sunday, October 15 & 16 from 11am to 6pm. It is THE place to be for incredible eats, fantastic musical performances, beautiful handmade products, majestic tall ships, the renowned John J. Harvey 9/11 fireboat, pirates and of course, the best oysters!
Admission, parking and most of the activities are FREE – and we’ve got COUPONS (note that both coupons are good either day and the must be downloaded, printed and presented at the festival to be redeemed).
- Download a coupon for $2 off your purchase of $10 of Oyster Festival official merchandise
- Download a coupon for $10 off the purchase of a 44-coupon ride book
Every year, festival attendees discover that the Food Court is not just the heart of the festival, it is the soul. All profits from food sales support over twenty-five local charities while proceeds from the rides and merchandise sales will be donated to charities supported by the Oyster Bay Rotary Club throughout the year.
Oysters, of course, take center stage and are available on the half shell, fried, or made into stew. Other delectable seafood choices include a full lobster dinner, Mussels Au Vin Blanc, soft shell crabs, lobster rolls, crab rolls, and much more. For the land lovers there are many culinary options as well, including chicken wings in 31 different varieties, pulled pork sandwiches, sausage and peppers, steak sandwiches, Texas chili, and, of course, other traditional festival fare. In total, there will be over 60 food choices available at the Tom Reardon Memorial Food Court, so no one in your group is in danger of going hungry.
When you’re nice and full, take a moment and reflect on everything you ate and visit the Whole Foods Market tent to cast your vote for the BEST OF THE FOOD COURT contest!
The Oyster Festival will take place rain or shine. Free parking and shuttle bus service are available both days.
