A great way to see accomplishments for the year is to look through your past blog posts. Reading each post tends to bring me back to the point in time when I wrote it (and if there are pictures of my kids, that’s an added bonus!). Looking through my posts from 2014, I am able to see, once again, how Long Island Parent Source has changed – even only over the course of 1 short year period.
As we say goodbye to 2014 and a bright big hello to 2015, I wanted to share with you our top posts from 2014! Some of these are older, but readers keep going back to them, which is an awesome feeling for a blogger. If you’ve been around and have read these before, thank you for your readership and support; if you’re new here, welcome and enjoy!
Top Posts of 2014
We love reviewing movies, and Disney movies are really our favorite. Disney had some great flicks released during 2014 that we were able to let you know about. Look for the post about Disney movies coming in 2015 – coming soon!!
Eating out can be super stressful with the kids, without worrying about how much it’s going to cost at the end. We updated our ‘Kids Eat Free’ post for this year to include the latest and greatest offers all around Long Island.
Dr. Seuss is everyone’s favorite and almost everyone has a favorite Dr. Seuss quote. In honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday, we put together our favorite of his quotes, and every year around his birthday, this post gets a lot of visits from readers who love him as much as we do. They, of course, can be enjoyed any time of the year!
This is actually one of my most favorite posts that I wrote this year. These are all great books for girls and boys in the tween/young teen age range, as recommended by an 11-year old boy himself!
This post got a full on overhaul during 2014 with brand new pictures from the last time we made this dish that have been pinned many times on Pinterest. I’m not exaggerating when I say it is the best chicken you will ever eat – it is absolutely delicious. Make it, eat it and then let me know!
This is actually a post from 2012 but it is still bringing readers to this blog almost every day! I was lucky enough to be one of a small-ish group (about 200) to see Theresa Caputo, an amazing medium and local ‘celebrity’ who stars in the TLC show ‘Long Island Medium’. She was as amazing in person as she is on television
This is also another oldie, but a Nassau County Leisure Pass is a must-have for local Nassau County residents. It gets you admission and discounts on some great local attractions, yet not everyone knows about it, or knows how to get one. This post will have you going in no time!
The Disney movie Frozen has been out for well over a year, but the love for it has not waned at all! We were able to offer these Frozen free coloring and activity printables for download and they are still being downloaded. My own daughter LOVES the coloring pages – still!
Our most popular book review for 2014 was of a book called An Invisible Thread: The True Story of an 11-Year-Old Panhandler, a Busy Sales Executive, and an Unlikely Meeting with Destiny
. It’s a great read, especially around the holiday time as it reminds us of so many things that we may take for granted.
The most popular post on LIParentSource.com for the second year in a row is about your favorite craft and mine, the Rainbow Loom! This post will take you through creating a hexafish stitch bracelet, pictured above. My kids still love their Rainbow Loom and my daughter has been making things like crazy – we’ll be sure to share them with you!
So there you have it, the top blog posts for 2014 from LIParentSource! We hope you have a wonderful new year – we’ll see you in 2015!!!
