Did you ever have a dream that came true? I’m talking about a real dream – you go to sleep, dream that something happens, and when you wake up, you realize that your dream actually came true!
Last year, we got together with some old friends when we were in Florida. My friend and I go all the way back to when we met at 12 years old. Our lives have both been crazy, and we haven’t seen her and her family for a few years. We all happened to be visiting family in Florida and the stars aligned and at the last minute, we both had some free time. I was so glad that we were able to spend time catching up and meet her son (who we hadn’t seen since her was a baby). It was during this catch up time that my friend revealed that while they wanted to add another baby to their family, only time would tell if they would be able to or not.
Since that catch up, we’ve exchanged birthday wishes for each other on Facebook (we both had a big birthday this year), but haven’t really spoken. Last week, I had a dream where I was spending time with my friend, and she told me she was pregnant. We were so happy and celebrated the fact that they would soon be parents of two.
When I woke up, I remembered the dream and her big announcement. Now, I’ve had dreams before about people I know being sick, and I’ve always called to check in on them after, just to make sure that they were actually okay. This was a different scenario though, because I hadn’t spoken to my friend in awhile, I didn’t want to call her out of nowhere and start prying into where they were in their progress, not wanting to upset her on a delicate matter.
So I decided to just sit back and wait a bit, knowing I could scan Facebook at any time for a big announcement.
And guess what??
A few nights later, I saw a status update from her husband that they are officially expecting!
I’ve been thinking about this for the past week and trying to figure out what it means. I’m definitely no psychic (that’s for sure!) and am so happy for my friend as she starts down this new path in her life – I think I’ll just leave it at that!
